This muscari lived in a little pot on my desk for a few days, the time it took to make this illustration. Every day I had to adapt my drawing to the subtle changes that were happening: the lower little bells of the flower faded and others, higher up on the "grape" opened up, while the stem was growing longer; a new blossom started to come up from the bulb, and a little caterpillar appeared that was nibbling on one of the leaves. It was a fascinating experience to be so close to a little piece of the life cycle of this flower.
